Our Services
The IEP/504 process can be frustrating, confusing and disheartening for families who have put their trust in their local education agency to guide them in what is in the best interest of their child. Unfortunately, many times schools are more concerned with their policies, rather than the needs of their students. They do not take the time to educate families on best practices and legal requirements they must provide.
Each potential relationship begins with a 30-minute complimentary consultation to determine your needs, and if Trotta Advocacy is the right fit for your child’s circumstances.
Clients receive comprehensive guidance, planning, and advocacy services, starting with document review through post-meeting debrief. Each step of the process is guided expertly, ensuring compliance within the local education agency and success in securing free and appropriate public education services.
Document Review
This process includes reviewing any existing testing, current IEP/504, and review of school records. We also identify any additional documentation, such as medical records, that may be useful or required.
Meeting Preparation & Attendance
Prior to the meeting, we answer questions, discuss strategy, and establish what to expect in the meeting. During the meeting, we ensure legal compliance, provide guidance on written details, and address any gaps in components of the individualized plan.
Post-Plan Debrief
Immediately following establishment of the IEP/504, a phone call is scheduled to discuss any additional questions families may have, what to expect upon execution of the plan, and to offer ongoing support, as needed.
